Principal Responsibilities:

CAMP OVERVIEW

Camp Twelve Trails gives children entering Kindergarten - 10th grade the best of both specialty and traditional day camp programs. It is comprised of five Neighborhoods (elective tracks): Play, Create, Explore, Discover, and Grow that allow campers to strengthen their skills in their favorite specialty while encouraging them to explore new areas. Our program is rooted in universally shared values central to Jewish life. These values are incorporated in everything we do, with the hope that it encourages our staff and campers to be the best versions of themselves.


POSITION OVERVIEW

The Camp Videographer/Photographer is vital in helping tell the story of Camp Twelve Trails. The person in this position has the unique opportunity to use their creative and technical skills to document camp's mission of providing children with a meaningful summer experience. Join us as a Camp Videographer/Photographer to capture all those smiles and summer moments so our camp families can know what happens at camp. To this end, this position will create high-quality visual content to be shared daily through social media, newsletters, and blog posts during the summer. Our goal is to create an outstanding library of videos and photographs that can be used for marketing and promotional purposes during the school year. The Camp Videographer/Photographer will work closely with our onsite Communications Team (Communications Coordinator and other Camp photographers) and the Marketing Committee. This is a great role for someone who enjoys working outdoors and interacting with kids.


DUTIES PRE CAMP

  • Document staff training and camp preparation
  • Create and maintain a list of "no photo" campers who we don't have permission to publically share photographs of
  • Create videos to introduce families to camp staff
  • Prepare content to post to social media accounts (Facebook, Instagram)

DUTIES DURING CAMP

  • Photograph camp activities and events, following a schedule set by the Communications Coordinator to ensure all groups are visited.
  • In conjunction with the Communication Coordinator and Marketing Committee, identify key moments that should be documented each day, including activities, special events, and off-site trips
  • Social Media
    • As part of the communication plan and with guidance from the Communications Coordinator, post content to Camp's social media accounts and a password-protected online photo album
    • Be diligent about only posting content of children who have signed photo waivers
  • File Management
    • Upload and manage visual content in camp's photo archive
    • Ensure files are organized and tagged correctly for easy access
    • Identify content to be used during the off-season
  • All staff riding camp buses are responsible for supporting Bus Captains (supervisors) with supervision and engagement of campers.

Status:

  • Seasonal
  • Mondays through Fridays, June 29 - August 14, 2026, including 40-45 hours of staff training in May and June

Hours: 8:00am-5:00pm during the summer

Salary Range: $4500

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A videography and photography background is essential, ideally with some formal training in basic principles, camera operation, and editing
  • Experience working with children
  • Knowledge of social media and marketing best practices is preferred, including sound judgment about what is suitable to post
  • Commitment to working collaboratively with others
  • Ability to be flexible and adapt to changing needs
