Position title: Prospect Research Intern

Reports to: Prospect Management Senior Associate

Location: Remote

Duration: 2-3 months with ability to extend

Status: Part Time (10-20 hours per week)

Compensation: $18/hour

The Position

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Prospect Research Fellow to join our team. The Prospect Research Fellow will play a crucial role in supporting our fundraising efforts by conducting thorough research on potential donors. This position offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in political non-profit fundraising while contributing to J Street’s mission.

Responsibilities May Include:

  • Conduct comprehensive research on individuals, corporations, and foundations to identify prospects for major gifts, sponsorships, and partnerships.
  • Evaluate and analyze philanthropic history and political affiliations of potential donors and partners.
  • Create detailed profiles and briefings for use by senior leadership and development officers in cultivating relationships and making solicitation strategies.
  • Collaborate with the development team to prioritize and segment prospects based on capacity and inclination to give.
  • Providing assistance with other tasks as needed

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Strong interest in and understanding of political advocacy and non-profit fundraising.
  • Excellent research skills with experience in prospect research or related fields preferred.
  • Ability to analyze and synthesize large amounts of information quickly and accurately.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency in using databases, internet research tools, and Microsoft Office Suite.

Compensation and Time Commitment

This part-time internship is paid $18/hour. Fellows can expect to work 10-20 hours per week.
