itrek launched in 2011 with a mission to empower leaders to engage their networks in meaningful Israel experiences, fostering an understanding and appreciation of Israel’s unique culture, diversity, richness and complex reality. More than 25,000 graduate students representing 130 nationalities from schools in the U.S., Canada and Europe have traveled to Israel through itrek. Over the last two years, itrek has expanded beyond graduate school students by piloting Launchpad, a program that connects with mission aligned leaders and organizations to create Israel Treks for their influential peers and members.
REALITY, now a key part of itrek, has led more than 3,000 influential leaders from diverse backgrounds and sectors—entertainment, policy, social innovation, technology, and more—on life-changing journeys to Israel over the past 15 years. Together, we inspire participants to deepen their leadership skills, build meaningful peer connections, and develop a nuanced understanding of Israel and the region.
Position Overview
The Director of Business Systems & Operations will play a pivotal role in shaping itrek into a data-driven, operationally excellent organization. This position will be responsible for guiding the strategic direction and operational execution of our technology and data ecosystems.
This position leads the Business Systems team ensuring that both data and technology supports organizational strategy, program growth, and operational excellence. The Director will not only manage day-to-day systems and data operations but will also define governance, build dashboards, and oversee portfolio-wide technology initiatives.This role combines technology leadership with data operations strategy, ensuring that our systems, processes, and data empower teams to make data-driven strategic business decisions, work more efficiently, and align resources with organizational priorities.
The ideal candidate is both a strategic thinker and hands-on operator—excited to design scalable systems, optimize workflows, and surface insights that drive organizational performance and mission impact.
Primary Responsibilities
- Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, ensuring that technology, systems, and data drive efficiency, scale, and innovation across the organization.
- Maintain and communicate a clear technology roadmap, ensuring transparency of priorities and timelines.
- Manage the Business Systems department providing oversight, resource management, and accountability.
- Define and execute a cohesive data collection and analysis strategy across finance, programming, fundraising, marketing, and operations. Leverage data and insights to support strategic decision-making and operational effectiveness across functions.
- Champion a culture of data-informed thinking by developing actionable dashboards and reports that enhance leadership visibility, alignment, and accountability.
- Build, maintain, and optimize dashboards, reports, and analytics (using Salesforce, Monday.com, and other tools) to empower data-driven decision-making and provide actionable insights.
- Lead the process of fixing and improving current systems while determining the future systems architecture needed to support growth and efficiency.
- Scope, evaluate, and implement enterprise-level technology and operations projects, ensuring measurable impact, cost-effectiveness, and alignment with strategic priorities.
- Establish governance frameworks and best practices for adoption, integration, and sustainability of systems and processes across the organization.
- Partner with cross-functional teams (Programming, Marketing, Business Development, Finance, etc.) to design and scale solutions that enhance collaboration, funnel conversion, client experience, and operational excellence.
- Drive organizational adoption of systems and tools through training, communication, and user support, ensuring stakeholders are empowered to leverage data and technology effectively.
- Collaborate with external vendors and consultants when necessary to deliver high-quality, efficient, and innovative systems solutions.
Skills and Qualifications
- 5+ years in business systems and data leadership
- Track record of improving operational efficiency, productivity, and cost management through systems and process design.
- Proven expertise in Salesforce and/or Monday.com, with demonstrated ability to administer, customize, and integrate at scale.
- Strong experience in systems portfolio management, Excel/Google Sheets, governance, quantitative analysis for data modeling and insight generation.
- Excellent project management and execution skills; ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills, written and verbal, in English are required.
- Experience in change management and strong relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence senior leaders and drive organizational change.
- Genuine passion for technology and for itrek’s mission, with eagerness to shape the next stage of organizational growth.
- Team management experience is a plus.
