About the Israeli American Council:
The mission of the IAC is to build an engaged and united Israeli American community that strengthens: the Israeli and Jewish identity of our next generations, the American Jewish community and the bond between the peoples of the United States and the State of Israel.
Job Purpose:
The Community Engagement (“CEM”) will work to expand IAC’s community impact and strategic investments in his/her region. The CEM will be responsible organizing and managing programs & events, as for representing the organization and increasing IAC’s awareness in Austin. He/she will report to the Texas Regional Director.
Duties include, and are not limited to:
- Professionally plan, coordinate and manage a variety of events that will accomplish the goals of IAC.
- Committees and group development-work together with IAC committees (donors/volunteers) to create content of varies programs and activities.
- Event Management - Professionally plan, coordinate and manage a variety of events that will accomplish the goals of IAC.
- Responsible for getting to know target audience in the area, reach out to new communities in the region and create connections with local representatives.
- Establish and implement volunteer-supporting system to ensure an active and engage group of volunteers Operate partnerships with external entities after these are established by the Regional Director.
- Brand management – Assures that all IAC events and programs are appropriately branded within the content and design of the event.
- Marketing – Create marketing plan for the local programs and related events and oversee its implementation, including online content, social media and promotion through local organizations.
- Participate in IAC staff meetings, training and National conferences.
- Represent the IAC in a professional manner and provides excellent service.
- Perform other related duties as required or directed.
Skills/Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Strong connection to both Israeli and American identities. Knowledge about its: people, culture, conflicts, history etc.
- Strong social skills and experience in community building.
Experience in group facilitation and informal education. - Flexible hours to include work in the evenings and weekends as needed for a regional activity and seminars
- Experience in the Israeli and/or Jewish sector is a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft office suite products and social networking tools.
- Highly efficient and organized.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Good operational & administrative management.
- English and Hebrew fluency required (reading/ writing/ speaking)
**Full-time employees working 20 plus hours per week shall be eligible for insurance benefits (medical, dental, vision, & life) following the new hire waiting period.
