About the Israeli- American Council:

The mission of the Israeli- American Council (IAC) is to build an active and giving Israeli-American Community throughout the United States to strengthen the State of Israel, our next generation, and to provide a bridge to the Jewish American community.

Job Purpose:

The Community Engagement Manager (“CEM”) will work to expand IAC’s community impact and strategic investments in his/her region. The CEM will be responsible for organizing and managing programs & events, as for representing the organization and increasing IAC’s awareness in that region. The CEM will recruit, maintain connections with participants, and manage operational aspects of the program. This is a 20-hour-per-week position, and he/she will report to the San Diego Regional Director.

Duties include and are not limited to:

Program & Event Delivery

  • Lead the planning, delivery, and quality assurance of programs, sessions, and community events for teens and young families.

  • Facilitate program sessions, including attendance tracking and post-session summaries.

  • Coordinate guest experts, mentors, facilitators, and program partners to ensure program readiness.

  • Manage and execute single- and multi-location programs, including cross-regional and cross-program events.

Community Engagement & Outreach

  • Build, maintain, and actively engage a regional community; serve as a primary point of contact for community leaders.

  • Represent the organization professionally within assigned communities and at partner meetings.

  • Expand community reach by connecting with new audiences, organizations, and local representatives.

  • Foster relationships with Israeli-American and Jewish organizations to support program visibility and participation.

Marketing, Promotion & Brand Management

  • Support program recruitment strategies and promote programs through community outreach and social platforms.

  • Ensure all programs and events align with organizational branding guidelines.

  • Keep the regional community informed of events and updates.

Operations, Partnerships & Administration

  • Collaborate closely with the regional team to ensure successful program execution.

  • Manage the regional calendar, data tracking, and reporting related to programs, participants, volunteers, and community engagement.

  • Support ongoing program operations, including participant and parent communication and issue resolution.

  • Maintain partnerships with external organizations, following direction from the Regional Director.

Volunteer & Team Engagement

  • Establish and support a volunteer engagement system to maintain an active volunteer base.

  • Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and national conferences as required.

Skills/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Strong connection to both Israeli and American identities. Knowledge about its people, culture, conflicts, history, etc.
  • Strong social skills and experience in community building.
  • Flexible hours to include work in the evenings and weekends as needed for regional activities and seminars.
  • Experience in the Israeli and/or Jewish sector is a plus.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite products and social networking tools.
  • Highly efficient and organized.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Good operational & administrative management.
  • Ability to get along with all levels within the organization.
  • Fluent spoken Hebrew is required; reading and writing proficiency is a plus.
  • Fluent in English - full comprehension, speaking, writing, and reading.

**Full-time employees working 20 plus hours per week shall be eligible for insurance benefits (medical, dental, vision, & life) following the new hire waiting period.
