Israel Policy Forum is a nonpartisan U.S. organization that advances policy ideas and educates community leaders to support effective U.S. engagement on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. We work to strengthen U.S. policy and cultivate an informed community of leaders committed to a viable resolution of the conflict that ensures Israel's security as a Jewish and democratic state, provides for Palestinian national aspirations, bolsters U.S.-Israel relations, and enhances regional security, stability, and cooperation. 

Israel Policy Forum is uniquely positioned in both the policy and Jewish communities, producing rigorous policy analysis trusted by U.S. decision-makers across the political spectrum, and convening programs that equip rising community and policy leaders to elevate the quality of discourse on U.S. policy toward Israel and the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

POSITION SUMMARY

Reporting to the Director of Communications and Marketing, the Communications Associate plays a key support role in the execution of Israel Policy Forum’s communications operations. The position helps advance the visibility of the organization, its mission, programs, and spokespeople by supporting the implementation of communications initiatives across traditional and digital platforms.

Key responsibilities include building and distributing email campaigns, posting content to social media channels, proofreading and formatting written materials, updating website content, providing registration and logistical support for virtual events, collecting and organizing data from communications platforms, and assisting with administrative and project-based tasks that support the day-to-day needs of a fast-paced communications department.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

Email Marketing and Audience Communications

  • Build, schedule, and distribute email communications through Campaign Monitor, including newsletters, event promotions, fundraising appeals, organizational updates, and other audience-specific campaigns.

  • Assist with audience segmentation, list management, and email performance tracking to help improve campaign targeting, engagement, and overall effectiveness.

Digital Content and Editorial Support

  • Draft, edit, proofread, and format digital content across platforms, including email copy, social media posts, website updates, newsletters, event materials, reports, graphics, video captions, and podcast-related materials.

  • Support the production, promotion, and distribution of organizational content, including columns, podcasts, policy explainers, webinars, video briefings, press statements, and media-related materials.

  • Track current events, media coverage, and developments relevant to the organization’s mission to help identify timely communications opportunities.

Social Media and Digital Platforms

  • Support day-to-day social media publishing and engagement across major platforms, ensuring content is accurate, timely, on-brand, and adapted appropriately for each channel.

  • Publish and maintain website content through the content management system, including articles, reports, podcasts, event pages, press releases, media mentions, and other organizational updates.

  • Assist with maintaining social media calendars, monitoring platform trends and audience engagement, and identifying opportunities to expand reach and strengthen digital engagement.

Multimedia and Visual Asset Support

  • Create and coordinate multimedia assets using tools such as Canva, Descript, and Adobe Creative Suite, including social graphics, email graphics, video clips, audio/video promotional materials, thumbnails, and presentation materials.

  • Source and organize photos, graphics, and other visual assets from internal and external platforms, ensuring proper licensing, attribution, brand alignment, and file organization.

Virtual Event Communications and Logistics

  • Support virtual event logistics and audience communications, including registration setup, reminder emails, webinar platform support, recording management, and post-event follow-up.

  • Coordinate with internal teams, speakers, and external partners to prepare event materials, confirm technical details, support live event execution, and ensure timely post-event communications.

Analytics, Reporting, and Communications Operations

  • Monitor, collect, and analyze performance metrics across email, website, podcast, webinar, and social media channels, and prepare reports or dashboards to help inform communications strategy.

  • Maintain communications databases, editorial calendars, media lists, digital asset libraries, and content archives to support consistency, accuracy, and efficiency.

  • Provide general administrative, operational, and project support for communications and marketing initiatives as needed.

DESIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in communications, digital media, marketing, nonprofit communications, or a related field.

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to draft, edit, proofread, format, and ensure the accuracy of finished work products.

  • Demonstrated experience supporting digital communications across multiple platforms, including email, website, social media, video, podcast, webinar, and/or other digital channels.

  • Experience building and distributing email communications through platforms such as Campaign Monitor, Mailchimp, or similar systems.

  • Fluency with major social media platforms and related analytics, with the ability to adapt content appropriately for different audiences and channels.

  • Experience with content management systems, webinar platforms, analytics tools, and digital publishing platforms such as WordPress, Zoom, Google Analytics, or similar systems.

  • Familiarity with design, video, audio, or multimedia tools such as Canva, Descript, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar platforms preferred.

  • Proficiency with Google Suite, project management software, and other tools used to manage tasks, deadlines, calendars, and collaborative workflows.

  • Comfort using emerging AI tools responsibly and effectively to support communications, content development, research, organization, and workflow efficiency.

  • Outstanding organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage short-term, deadline-driven daily tasks while keeping longer-term projects moving.

  • Demonstrated ability to be responsive to feedback, incorporate revisions, manage competing priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy, including proofreading, formatting, fact-checking, link-checking, and ensuring consistency across final work products.

  • Ability to take initiative, be resourceful, solve problems, learn new skills, and improve systems or workflows where appropriate.

  • Strong interpersonal and cross-functional collaboration skills, with the ability to work professionally with colleagues across teams and functions.

  • Familiarity with Israeli politics, Middle East policy, U.S.-Israel relations, the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, and/or the American Jewish communal landscape preferred.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

The annual salary range is $57,500–$67,500, commensurate with experience and aligned with organizational compensation practices. Applicants who meet the minimum qualifications typically start at the range minimum.

Israel Policy Forum is based in New York, NY, and has an office in Washington, DC. This position is based in New York, where staff work in person one to three days per week.
