Location: New York, NY (New York staff are currently working in person one to three days per week)

Israel Policy Forum is an educational and policy organization working to shape the discourse and mobilize support among American Jewish leaders and U.S. policymakers for the realization of a viable two-state solution consistent with Israel's security. We do this by educating political and communal leaders on pragmatic policy ideas to improve Israel’s security while maintaining conditions for an eventual two-state solution, and by building consensus in the policy and Jewish communities for these visions and goals. We envision a Jewish, democratic, and secure Israel, and support a strong and enduring U.S.-Israel relationship.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Development and Stewardship Associate (DSA) plays a critical support role in ensuring donors receive timely, accurate, and thoughtful stewardship. This position is responsible for gift processing, acknowledgements, data entry, and administrative support for events, donor travel, and fundraising activities.

This is an ideal opportunity for a rising professional interested in building a foundation in nonprofit development, donor relations, and fundraising operations.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

Gift Processing & Acknowledgements

  • Process donations accurately and in a timely manner.

  • Generate and send donor acknowledgement letters and receipts.

  • Maintain organized gift and donor records.

Stewardship & Donor Support

  • Support stewardship efforts, including impact reports, thank you communications, and donor updates.

  • Assist with donor correspondence and follow-up.

  • Help ensure donors feel valued and informed.

CRM & Data Support

  • Enter and update donor and gift information in Salesforce.

  • Support data quality and consistency.

  • Run basic reports as needed.

Administrative Support

  • Assist with registration, tracking, and communications for:

    • Parlor meetings

    • Donor events

    • Fundraising gala

    • Leadership and donor trips

    • Internal and external meetings

  • Provide logistical and administrative support for development events.

Administrative & Team Support

  • Support Development staff with scheduling, preparation, and coordination.

  • Maintain organized files and documentation.

  • Assist with special projects as needed.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

  • A minimum of 2 years of work experience, preferably in the nonprofit sector.

  • Experience supporting executive and senior staff.

  • Ability to represent Israel Policy Forum to donors and interact with members of the board.

  • Excellent judgment and decision-making abilities, and ability to maintain a high level of calm and professionalism.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to edit, proofread, and ensure the accuracy of finished work products. Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Outstanding time management skills with an ability to be responsive to revisions and meet deadlines.

  • Demonstrated ability to execute short-term, deadline-driven daily tasks, as well as to manage multiple long-term projects requiring input from and collaboration with others.

  • Ability to take initiative, be resourceful, and exhibit a problem-solving mindset, and a desire to learn new skills. 

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment with a variety of cross-functional departments and build and maintain relationships. 

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Suite, Todoist or another project management software, event management software such as RSVPify.

  • Experience with a CRM database, particularly Salesforce, is preferred.

  • Knowledge of Israel and the Middle East and current events, and familiarity with the institutional Jewish community and U.S.-Israel relations is a plus.

  • Commitment to Israel Policy Forum’s mission and the vision of a secure, Jewish, democratic Israel.

This is a full-time, non-exempt position, with very occasional evening or weekend work if needed. The annual salary range is $52,500 - $60,000 depending on experience. OTHER INFORMATION

Israel Policy Forum is based in New York, NY and has an office in Washington, DC. New York and Washington, DC staff work in person one to three days per week.
