About the Role

Our client, Hanna Sacks Bais Yaakov (HSBY), a mission-driven, all-girls high school in Chicago, seeks a dedicated and experienced educational leader to serve as Director of General Studies. This role offers an opportunity to shape the academic experience of students while guiding a committed team of educators in a warm, values-based school community.

The Director works closely with the Assistant Principal to lead day-to-day operations of the General Studies department, including faculty supervision, curriculum oversight, and student support. This position is ideal for a collaborative, reflective leader who is passionate about academic excellence and personal character development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coach faculty in instruction, engagement, and classroom management.
  • Collaborate on curriculum planning and alignment with academic standards and school values.
  • Conduct classroom observations and provide mission-aligned feedback and mentorship.
  • Oversee daily program operations including scheduling and substitute coordination.
  • Serve as a point of contact for General Studies-related student and parent concerns.
  • Partner with Judaic Studies leadership to ensure smooth coordination across the dual curriculum.
  • Monitor student performance and support those needing remediation or enrichment.
  • Contribute to schoolwide planning, events, and community programs.
