Description

Hillel Day School is a vibrant Jewish day school dedicated to fostering academic excellence, Jewish values, and a strong sense of community. Serving students from ages 18 months to eighth grade, our school provides a warm, inclusive, and engaging environment where students thrive both academically and personally.

About LII:

The Lauder Impact Initiative (LII) is a national philanthropic investment in dramatically increasing the number of Jewish children enrolled in Jewish day schools. Hillel is one of five schools selected to participate in LII’s pilot cohort. Through LII, Hillel is building “interventions” to experiment with new ideas in student recruitment and community building. The initiative that would be the focus of these personnel hours is a project to expose parents of young children early to the idea of Jewish day school.

Key Responsibilities:

This hourly position will support the planning, organization, and execution of key LII pipeline events. These events are to be designed, but they will look something like the following:

  1. Sunday STEAM: Hillel will build a series of 3-5 Sunday morning events for preschoolers, meant to bring parents and children into the building for a Jewishly themed academic experience.
  2. Preschool afterschool: Hillel will build a series of enrichment opportunities targeted at Jewish preschoolers and their parents, to weave Hillel’s K-8 resources into the weekly lives of preschoolers.
  3. OY Parenting: Hillel already facilitates a monthly Sunday morning class for parents, supporting their strong and confident parenting; the series will be repeated in 2025-6.
  4. Shabbat Sing: Hillel will offer drop-in music opportunities for infants and toddlers on Friday mornings.
  5. Alumni: Hillel will build two to three events for alumni annually and increase communication with alumni.

Responsibilities for all include designing and implementing the program, advertising the program (recruitment), and managing communication with families.

The position will also be responsible for:

  1. Social media: While these programs are being developed, Hillel will also be building its social media presence, both through its channels and advertising. These programs will be the product that is shared and advertised.
  2. Data: Contact information about families, as well as data about their participation, will need to be stored and used. This position will be responsible for managing these data.

In all cases, there is an Advancement team member who is the ultimate decider for each event, and the Advancement team generally will be a collaborative team helping to design these strategies. The associate will be responsible for implementation.
