Staff Wellbeing Consultant

PURPOSE:
HIAS is an international humanitarian organization committed to supporting staff worldwide. Recognizing that well-being is critical to both individual resilience and organizational effectiveness.
The organization intends to engage an experienced consultant to design a comprehensive, context-appropriate Staff Care and Wellbeing Framework that meets the needs of its employees and is aligned with humanitarian best practice.
The consultant is to design a coherent, practical, and sustainable approach to staff care and wellbeing that supports the physical, mental, psychological, and emotional health of staff across all levels of employees globally.
OBJECTIVES:
The specific objectives of the consultancy are to:

Review and Assessment:
-
Assess existing staff care and wellbeing practices and policies.

Benchmark against best practices in humanitarian staff care and wellbeing.

Consultation and Engagement:
-
Conduct consultations with key stakeholders and staff (i.e. leadership, HR, managers, technical leaders, and US and Country Office staff).

Ensure staff perspectives, lived experiences, and contextual realities inform the design.

Design of Staff Care and Wellbeing Guide and Associated Materials:
-
Propose practical, scalable initiatives, materials, and guides that can be implemented across diverse settings, and that meet the needs of employees across the globe (e.g. support mechanisms, trainings, activities).

Include both organizational-level and individual-level interventions.

Provide guidance and tools for implementation, including in low-resource and high-stress contexts.

Ensure the framework reflects principles of duty of care, inclusion, equity, and cultural sensitivity.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:

Advanced degree in psychology, organizational development, public health, social work or related field.

Demonstrated experience designing staff care, wellbeing, or psychological support initiatives in humanitarian organizations.

Strong understanding of trauma-informed and culturally responsive approaches.

Excellent facilitation, analytical, and writing skills.

Experience working with international teams at all levels.
