POSITION SUMMARY:

HIAS Kenya seeks to recruit a temporary HR Associate who will support the day-to-day HR operations, help ensure compliance with relevant regulations, and contribute to maintaining a positive and efficient workplace environment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Assist in the hiring process by posting job openings, screening resumes, scheduling interviews, and coordinating the interview processes.
  • Conduct reference and background checks for new staff.
  • Facilitate the onboarding process for new employees, serving as the primary point of contact for inquiries and ensuring a smooth transition into the organization, including facilitating the reading and signing of organizational policies and standard operating procedures.
  • Onboard new staff into the Human Resource information systems (HRIS) and regularly update the HRIS.
  • Organize and manage physical and digital filing systems for HR documents.
  • Prepare and submit payroll changes for payroll processing
  • Onboarding new staff and their dependents, or adding new dependents to the medical insurance cover and WIBA+ insurance covers
  • Monitor the implementation of leave plans and prepare monthly leave uptake reports.
  • Ensure compliance with labor laws and organizational policies
  • Assist in drafting employment contracts, letters, and other HR related documents
  • Facilitate the staff separation process in the organization.
  • Support in the coordination of the Performance Management Process, staff team building, supervision, and the staff training calendar.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:

  • Diploma or bachelor’s degree in human resource management, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Minimum of 6 months’ experience in an HR support role or similar capacity
  • Strong written communication skills for drafting documents, minutes, and correspondence
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Attention to detail and the ability to manage filing systems efficiently

  • High level of integrity and ability to handle confidential information
  • Knowledge of PSEA and AAP

SALARY: Gross of 50,000 per month
