We are seeking an entrepreneurial and mission-driven Associate Director of Talent Recruitment that operates with a high sense of urgency and possesses a strong work ethic. Job Responsibilities:
Recruitment Strategy & Candidate Cultivation
- Develop and execute comprehensive recruitment strategies to attract a high-quality and diverse candidate pool across varying school based and network level roles.
- Oversee and utilize recruitment platforms to attract candidates including but not limited to LinkedIn, Indeed, TFA Connect, and Handshake.
- Plan and facilitate targeted cultivation initiatives (e.g., coffee chats, info sessions, school tours, etc.), and coordinate in-person and virtual events to build strong prospect pools.
- Attend and organize all materials for job fairs, external events and conferences.
- Build and maintain high quality talent pipelines and prospect pools through proactive outreach and partnerships with universities and mission-aligned organizations.
- Design branded marketing content for social media and events, sponsored ad campaigns, and monthly newsletters to enhance employer branding and increase application volume.
Candidate Experience & Hiring Process Execution
- Ensure clear and professional candidate communications and maintain a strong candidate experience from outreach through onboarding.
- Oversee salary calculations, draft and deliver timely offer calls and letters, and provide negotiation support, including mid-year shifts.
- Develop and maintain clear trackers for candidate progress, offer status, and onboarding.
- Regular monitoring of all pipelines & prescreen docs to ensure candidates are progressed in a timely manner and receiving communication regarding status.
- Conduct initial candidate screenings and make recommendations for next steps.
- Organize in person candidate interview days by liaising between candidates and school leaders, scheduling and participating in interviews, preparing materials and working with leaders to make hiring decisions.
- Support hiring manager workload by managing interview logistics, candidate communications, and process documentation.
Talent Systems, Operations & Compliance
- Serve as the Greenhouse site administrator: maintain user permissions, oversee & manage hiring cycles in Greenhouse ATS, including posting jobs, scheduling interviews, updating scorecards and performance tasks, updating candidate communications & email templates, updating sources & rejection reasons, launching references, and generating offer letters; conduct system audits to ensure data accuracy.
- Create, maintain, and improve systems for hiring, clearances, screener assignments, vacancy tracking, and new hire tracking.
- Draft hiring plans and ensure hiring plans are vetted by all stakeholders (network staff, HOS, HMs) and ensure it aligns with what is in Greenhouse.
- Partner with HR to ensure smooth pass-off of new hires for onboarding, including clearance tracking and documentation management. Develop and implement equitable hiring practices and aligned tools to increase the quality and diversity of candidate pools.
- Support reference collection and background check coordination
- Track budget spending, maintain organized systems for receipts and reporting.
Talent Team, Screener Supervision & Support
- Supervise the talent assistant, assigning work and managing capacity and priorities while providing 1:1 support and coaching.
- Supervise 4-5 external phone screeners and support hiring managers across the network with systems training, workload management, and candidate feedback; lead screener mentor program and manage screener resources and performance tracking.
- Provide training and support to hiring managers on recruitment systems, interview best practices, and candidate evaluation.
- Coordinate with screeners to ensure consistent candidate evaluation and timely completion of screening processes.
Partnerships & External Relations
- Support recruitment partnership strategy including TFA, CUNY internships, local universities, and national education organizations; coordinate job fairs, events, and exploration calls.
- Supervise intern program management including onboarding, clearances, supervisor coordination, and payroll.
- Oversee & coordinate student teaching placements
Strategic Initiatives & Special Projects
- Support with the development of executive-level hiring processes (e.g., HOS searches), including designing comprehensive interview days and materials.
- Coordinate execution of new hire cultivation plans to ensure engagement and successful onboarding
- Engage in market research and professional development to drive continuous improvement and innovation in recruitment strategy.
- Collaborate with school leaders and talent leadership to assess annual talent needs, adjust hiring plans, and forecast recruitment priorities.
- Oversee employee and new hire recognition initiatives
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution required.
- 3-5 years of recruitment or talent acquisition experience, preferably in education, nonprofit, or mission-driven organizations required.
- K-12 teaching or school-based experience required.
- Experience with Greenhouse applicant tracking systems (ATS) preferred.
- Strong organizational and project management skills with ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a customer service orientation.
- Proficiency in Google Suite/Microsoft Office, with strong spreadsheet and database management skills.
- Ability to travel regularly within New York City and surrounding states for school visits and recruitment events.

We offer a highly competitive compensation package designed to attract and retain top talent. Starting base salary begins at $90,000 with the opportunity for higher earnings based on experience and qualifications.
