Are you a creative planner with a passion for building inclusive communities?

The Harry & Rose Samson Family JCC is seeking a dynamic and organized Direct Support & Program Coordinator to serve as the primary architect for our award-winning programs. This role is the heartbeat of our department, centralizing the curriculum and logistics for Gesher (our adult day program) and Chaverim (our vibrant social/recreational program).

Why This Role?

This isn’t a typical 9-to-5. This position is designed for someone who loves variety. You will spend your time both "in the mix" with our participants—modeling life skills and leading activities—and behind the scenes, using your organizational talents to design calendars and build community partnerships.

The "Flex" Schedule

We believe in being present when our participants need us most. This full-time role features a flexible schedule:

  • Mon/Wed/Fri: Standard daytime hours focused on our Gesher adult day program.

  • Tue/Thu: A shifted schedule (starting later/ending later) to provide leadership for our evening Chaverim social events.

  • Occasional Sundays: Support for specialized community outings and seasonal celebrations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Program Architecture: Lead the design of age-appropriate, engaging curricula for both programs, ensuring a cohesive and high-quality experience for all participants.

  • Logistics & Coordination: Manage monthly calendars, facility room reservations, and departmental transportation schedules.

  • Direct Leadership: Model positive social interactions and life skills (vocational, hygiene, meal prep) while implementing behavioral support methods.

  • Community Outreach: Identify new community partners and act as an inclusion resource for other JCC departments like Camp and Youth services.

  • Communication: Keep our families connected through newsletters and eye-catching flyers (using Canva).

  • Transportation: Get our participants out into the world! You will occasionally drive the 14-passenger JCC van for community outings and volunteer sites.

Who You Are

  • An Organized Planner: You thrive on managing complex calendars and meeting deadlines.

  • Tech-Savvy & Creative: You are comfortable using tools like Canva to design engaging flyers and Microsoft Office to keep program logistics running like clockwork.

  • A Compassionate Communicator: You relate to families with warmth and can navigate complex emotional or behavioral challenges with diplomacy.

  • Experienced: You have 2+ years of experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities.

  • Qualified: You hold a Bachelor’s degree in Special Education, Social Work, Recreation Therapy, or a related field (preferred).

  • A Safe Driver: You are at least 25 years old with a clean driving record (required for van operation).
