Middle School Math Teacher (Part-Time or Full-Time)

The Senesh School, a progressive, independent K–8 Jewish day school in Carroll Gardens, Brooklyn, is seeking a Middle School Math Teacher to join our faculty for the 2026–2027 school year. This position may be part-time or full-time, depending on the candidate's experience and availability.
Successful candidates are rigorous, collaborative, warm, and reflective educators who are committed to helping adolescents develop confidence, curiosity, and strong mathematical thinking. The annual salary range is $80,000–$90,000, commensurate with experience. Responsibilities include:
- Teaching math classes to groups of approximately 15 students
- Differentiating instruction and materials to meet the diverse needs of learners (both support and enrichment)
- Using data and assessment to inform teaching and learning
- Using current research to develop sound pedagogical practices
- Developing a warm, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment
- Working collaboratively with grade-level team members on programs and supporting students
- Acting as a middle school advisor
- Building partnerships with parents to support student progress
Qualifications
- MA degree in education or a related field
- Three or more years of middle school lead teaching experience
- Expertise in curriculum development and instructional design
- Collaborative, collegial, and team-oriented
- Commitment to a “whole child” approach supporting academic, social, and emotional growth
- Demonstrated cultural competency and commitment to diversity, equity, and belonging
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
