The Hebrew Educational Society, a thriving multi-service, comprehensive community center located in southeast Brooklyn, provides a diverse array of programs and services within a multicultural, multi-ethnic environment that is inclusive of people of all ages and ability levels. Programs include Early Childhood, After School, Camps, Athletic and Aquatic Activities, Older Adults & Persons with disabilities.
Position OverviewThe Early Childhood Program Administrative Coordinator supports the daily operations of a mission-driven early childhood program serving children and families in the community. This role ensures regulatory compliance, manages enrollment and documentation, and provides administrative support that advances the organization’s commitment to high-quality, accessible early education. The ideal candidate is organized, collaborative, and passionate about supporting children and families in a nonprofit setting.
Job Responsibilities
- Manage enrollment, maintain accurate waiting lists, and support equitable access to services for families
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and contractual requirements, including standards set by the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, NYC Administration for Children's Services, and the New York City Department of Education, as well as Early Learn and Pre-K for All (PKA) program guidelines
- Maintain accurate, confidential records and documentation in alignment with agency policies and funder requirements
- Assisting with set up of all Department events
- Collaborate with program leadership, teaching staff, and administrative teams to support agency-wide initiatives and continuous quality improvement efforts
- Assist with data collection and reporting to support grant compliance and contract deliverables
- Order, track, and organize program supplies to ensure classrooms and offices operate efficiently
- Provide administrative and clerical support to the Program Director and leadership team
- Contribute to a safe, inclusive, and welcoming environment for children, families, staff, and community partners
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and standard office software systems
- Strong attention to detail and data accuracy
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism
- Commitment to the mission and values of a nonprofit organization serving children and families
Pay: $55,000.00 per year
