Job Summary:
The role of an Integrated R.A.P. Room Counselor is to safely and collaboratively implement quality services provided academically, behaviorally and socially to students with special needs who are beginning the process of integrating into general classrooms.
Responsibilities
- To facilitate students’ transitions into mainstream classrooms by providing guidance and assistance
- To successfully engage students with special needs in scheduled activities based on provided trainings and the guidance of supervisory staff
- To ensure the health, safety & welfare of all children participating in the Integrated R.A.P. Room program
- To communicate progress and needs with families while maintaining student / family confidentiality
- To implement a vision for excellence to include best practices in services for individuals with disabilities
- Flexibility to attend to additional duties as assigned
Qualifications
- High School Diploma preferred
- Interest in the pursuit in higher education with a focus in Psychology, Social Work or Special Education preferred
- A minimum of 1 year of experience in work with persons with disabilities including ASD preferred
- Demonstrated ability to receive training and work well with others
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Passion for working as a member of a collaborative and interdisciplinary team of the Human Service field
Pay: $17.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20.0 per week
