WHAT YOU WILL DO:
The Grant Accountant is an exempt position responsible for contract billings, account analysis, contract budgets, and liaising between Finance and Funders. The Grant Accountant will prepare grant proposal budgets and budget narratives as necessary and assist with the preparation of the company's annual budgets. The grant accountant will be responsible for all required financial reporting per contracts and for preparing and entering monthly journal entries.
- Responsible for contract billings as required by contract.
- Responsible for all required financial reporting per contracts.
- Reconcile assigned balance sheet account analysis monthly.
- Assist with the preparation of the company's annual budgets.
- Work with the Grants department by preparing grant proposal budgets and budget narratives as necessary.
- Prepare and enter monthly journal entries.
- Assist as needed with monthly general ledger closing.
- Reconcile bank statements monthly as assigned.
- Assist with audit work papers for annual audit as assigned.
- Maintain position controls.
- Work with program staff in understanding financials.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.

- $60,000 - $65,000 annual salary

WHAT YOU WILL NEED:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting required, in addition to three (3) years' minimum experience in accounting position with Grant Accounting and Reporting.
- Proficient in general financial accounting.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software (i.e., V-Lookups, Pivot tables).
- Thorough understanding of effective grant reporting.
- Ability to meet deadlines.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to deal professionally, courteously, and efficiently with internal and external customers.
- Extremely organized and meticulous with details.
- Occasional travel to funder meetings or job-related training.
- Excellent project management skills and ability to prioritize work and resources
- Ability to work on various projects with varying priorities.
- Ability to lift and/or carry office supplies, equipment, files, etc. up to 25 lbs.
