WHAT YOU WILL DO:

The Senior Accountant is an exempt position responsible for managing and distributing financial reports, assisting with the development of annual budgets, performing account analysis, and providing support to finance, payroll, and billing staff.

  • Prepare and post general ledger journal entries for all cost centers
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts and analyze monthly
  • Maintain Fixed Assets accounts, monthly reporting, and analysis
  • Report on Travel & Expense reimbursement and prepare monthly postings for travel and mileage expenses
  • Assist as needed with the monthly general ledger closing of all cost centers
  • Assist with the annual budgeting process
  • Prepare, examine, and analyze accounting records, financial statements, and other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to reporting and procedural standards
  • Responsible for HUD projects’ financials; act as lead for the annual HUD audit
  • Assist with audit work papers for annual audit of all companies. Answer accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data
  • Perform other duties as assigned

WHAT YOU WILL NEED:

  • Bachelor's degree with a concentration in accounting
  • Minimum of five years of professional accounting experience
  • Knowledge of General Ledger and financial statements
  • Knowledge of accounting and budgeting applications
  • Knowledge of account reconciliation and self-auditing procedures
  • Working knowledge of payroll and payroll systems
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritize projects and meet deadlines
  • Ability to prepare budgets and any reports necessary to the fiscal operations
  • Ability to deal professionally, courteously and efficiently with people
  • Proficient in Accounting systems, Concur and Microsoft Office Suite (i.e. V-Lookups, Pivot tables)
