WHAT YOU WILL DO:
The Training Coordinator is an exempt position responsible for understanding the specific training needs of the Unaccompanied Children (UC) program based on state licensing needs and the funder's cooperative agreement. The Training Coordinator will stay current with all Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR) policy changes and develop a training curriculum to implement policy updates. The Training Coordinator plays a key role in developing and delivering training programs to support staff, volunteers, and community partners, ensures employees have the knowledge and skills needed to fulfill the organization’s mission effectively, and provides support to the Program Director, including maintaining the monthly reporting required by the funder and state licensing requirements.
- Ensures compliance with all ORR and DCF Training requirements.
- Develops and refines training materials that align with ORR Policies and Procedures and Department of Children and Families (DCF) Trainings.
- Plans, organizes, coordinates, and facilitates staff development training.
- Supports staff in using the online software Relias, ORR Learning Center, and DCF training system.
- Ensures staff are registered for the required staff development training.
- Manages the logistics of training sessions, including setting up facilities, preparing materials, and ensuring smooth execution.
- Manages employees’ training through Relias.
- Onboards new hires.
- Creates and supervises the maintenance of the Professional Training Library.
- Ensures all new hires complete pre-service and ORR training.
- Ensures compliance with funding and regulatory requirements.
- Promotes professional development.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED:
- Bachelor’s degree in education, psychology, sociology, or other relevant behavioral science.
- Five (5) years of progressive employment experience with a social services or childcare agency/organization.
- Previous work history in a shelter setting preferred.
- Working knowledge of community organizations and resources to outsource training when necessary.
- Ability to conduct formal and informal meetings and trainings.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to deal professionally, courteously, and effectively with clients, employees, and community organizations.
- Ability to lift and/or carry case files, activity supplies, donations, etc., up to 25 pounds.
- Ability to work in stressful client situations.
- Potential exposure to clients who may exhibit physically and/or verbally aggressive behaviors.
- Must participate in at least 40 hours of continuing education/training per year.
- Must have CPR and First Aid certification and maintain certification throughout employment.
- Proof of Immunization for: Varicella (2 doses), MMR (2 dose), Influenza (1 dose yearly), and Tdap (1 dose).
- Potential exposure to communicable diseases.
- Bilingual in English/ Spanish required.
- Acceptable Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) check is required to maintain the position.
- Must have a valid drivers' license and auto insurance coverage. Must be able to drive the company van as needed to transport clients.
