WHAT YOU WILL DO:

The Senior Director of Jewish Family Services (JFS) is an exempt position responsible for overseeing and operating the JFS programs and the Holocaust Survivor Program. The Senior Director serves as a liaison with the community, local partner organizations, volunteers, and funders. The Senior Director also works toward program growth and fiscal diversity through grants and community involvement, providing daily oversight of all program staff.

Supervisor Responsibilities:

  • Oversees Program Director, Supportive Counselors, Program Manager, Program Coordinator, and Case Managers.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provided day-to-day program leadership and oversight of Jewish Family Services programs and the Holocaust Survivor program to ensure program goals and deliverables, detailed and complex funder reporting, communication, and program budget goals are met
  • Serve as liaison and steward of program-related funder and community relationships, participating in conferences, training, audits, and other funder-generated opportunities and requirements.
  • Support the preparation of grant requests and complex project budgets in consultation with the Grants Manager and Grant Accountants.
  • Assist in creating, implementing, and expanding JFS programs; includes strategic shared program resources with other agency program pillars.
  • Support the development of promotional materials, messaging, and media-related requests
  • Serve as lead staff liaison for the Jewish Family Services Advisory Council and quarterly meetings.
  • Support program volunteer and outreach activities to serve clients in partnership with the Volunteer Services Manager.
  • Ensure compliance with all agency and funder standards; monitor internal quality improvement standards, reporting, and implementation of improvement plans.
  • Monitor and explain variance on monthly program income statements and other budget reports.
  • Participate in committees of community partners as appropriate and internal agency committees.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED:

The Senior Director of Jewish Family Services must have completed education, preferably a master’s degree with a concentration in social work, education, business management, or human services. A bachelor’s degree with demonstrated expertise and relevant experience may substitute. The Senior Director of Jewish Family will demonstrate professional experience in project and/or program management and five (5) years of budget management and leadership ability, team management, and people skills.

  • Understanding of Tampa Bay area community resources for vulnerable populations required.
  • Prior working relationships with and understanding Jewish community services, including Jewish Family Services (JFS) and Federation, are preferred.
  • Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrates effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must have the capacity and knowledge to work with diverse communities.
  • Must have a working understanding of Trauma-Informed Care.
  • Ability to practice a healthy work-life balance and help staff to improve their work environment and well-being.
  • Must be proficient with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, PowerPoint).
  • Flexibility to work long hours when needed.
  • Ability to manage emotionally stressful interpersonal situations.
  • Use of personal vehicles to transport clients as needed.
  • Must have a valid drivers’ license with current auto insurance coverage.
