WHAT YOU WILL DO:
The Senior Director of Children's Programs is an exempt position responsible for overseeing Child Welfare and Children’s Programs.
Supervisor Responsibilities:
- Oversee and assist in recruitment, supervision, training, and evaluation of Children and Family program staff.
- Maintain and document monthly supervision/training of direct services staff.
- Assist with recruitment, supervision and evaluation of staff for assigned programs.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensure the contractual requirements for assigned programs.
- Ensure accurate job descriptions, policies, procedures, and other program information.
- Implement systems and program procedures to ensure that proforma outcomes and standards are met.
- Review assigned program financials and provide budget oversight.
- Assist programs, when necessary, in troubleshooting and finalizing decisions related to cases and personnel.
- Provide quality control, administrative oversight, performance, and fiscal management.
- Attend meetings related to the assigned programs with community partners and stakeholders.
- Prove modeling, training, and development of professional skills to program employees.
- Perform all other duties as assigned, which could lead to additional program support.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED:
The Senior Director of Children's Programs must have a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college and at least five (5) years of experience in managing delivery of child welfare services or a Master’s degree and at least three (3) years of experience in managing the delivery of child welfare services. In addition, three (3) years of experience demonstrating leadership ability, team management, and people skills.
- Must have a current Child Welfare Certification with the Florida Certification Board.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Public speaking knowledge is required to ensure the representation of Gulf Coast JFCS leadership in community associations.
- Knowledge of child development and physical, mental, emotional, and cultural information is required.
- Ability to flexibly deal with clients, volunteers, other community agencies serving our population, and peers professionally and courteously.
- Ability to communicate effectively in a community-based services environment.
- Must attend relevant skills-enhancement training and demonstrate required program-specific knowledge.
- Ability to work under stressful client situations.
- Potential exposure to clients who may be physically and/or verbally aggressive.
- Potential exposure to communicable diseases.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, etc.
- Ability to lift and carry case files, activity supplies, donations, etc., up to 25 pounds.
- Ability to work in the field at any given time of the year.
- Ability to work overtime as required as a salaried employee.
- Ability to travel within the state of Florida.
- Must have a valid drivers’ license with current auto insurance coverage.
