WHAT YOU WILL DO:
The Electronic Health Record Manager is an exempt position responsible for overseeing the entire lifecycle of the organization's EHR system(s), specifically focusing on managing and optimizing myAvatar to ensure it supports delivering high-quality care to our clients. This position requires a deep understanding of EHR systems and project management. The EHR Manager sits at the top of the HIT department and collaborates closely with the Finance department and other relevant stakeholders.
Supervisor Responsibilities:
- Oversees a staff comprised of data analysts and report writers.
- Lead, direct, develop, support, and coach staff.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Oversee all aspects of the EHR system(s), ensuring the platform is optimized, secure, and aligned with organizational needs.
- Manage the ongoing lifecycle of the EHR system, including regular system updates, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
- Collaborate with the Finance department to ensure that EHR systems support billing processes, revenue cycle management, and data integration needs.
- Work with key stakeholders across clinical, operational, and administrative teams to understand their needs and ensure the EHR system aligns with their workflows and processes.
- Oversee staff training on system use, provide ongoing support, and create educational materials for users. Ensure that users are proficient and comfortable with the EHR system.
- Regularly evaluate the performance of the EHR system and propose enhancements or changes to improve functionality, efficiency, and user experience.
- Work with staff to generate and analyze reports from the EHR system, ensuring that key performance metrics and reporting requirements are met.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to identify opportunities for process optimization within the EHR system, ensuring that workflows are streamlined, and that the system supports improved operational efficiency.
- Manage relationships with EHR vendors, consultants, and support teams to ensure that system performance issues are addressed promptly, and enhancements are aligned with organizational goals.
- Should the need arise, lead the vendor selection process, including developing selection criteria, managing vendor evaluations, and facilitating the selection of the most suitable system. Oversee the implementation of the EHR system, ensuring that all workflows, data integrations, and configurations are correctly implemented.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, or related science field.
- Master’s degree preferred
- Five to 10 years in healthcare Information Technology or health information management, with a significant portion of that time explicitly spent working with EHR systems.
- Minimum two years of supervisory experience.
- Professional certifications related to EHR management a plus.
