WHAT YOU WILL DO:
The Community Educator is a non-exempt position responsible for developing, coordinating and providing presentations and training in Pinellas, Pasco and Hillsborough Counties. This includes a focus on reducing risk factors and increasing healthy behaviors via community and caregiver education.
- Utilize social marketing strategies to disseminate information on medication management and the prevention of substance abuse.
- Identify appropriate sites and schedule educational presentations.
- Adhere to guidelines of adopted Evidence-Based Practices (EBPs) and ensure program fidelity.
- Research, develop, and deliver new presentations aimed at promoting healthy behaviors and reducing substance abuse risk factors.
- Conduct quarterly caregiver education trainings and provide additional caregiver support as needed within the Alternative Family Program.
- Assist with recruitment of new caregivers to support program growth.
- Participate actively in outreach events to raise awareness and engagement.
- Collaborate with community partners and stakeholders to expand the reach and impact of educational programs.
- Monitor and evaluate program effectiveness through feedback and data collection.
- Perform all other duties assigned by the Senior Director of Behavioral Health.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED:
- Bachelor’s degree in a human services or related field
- Previous experience with mental health/substance abuse.
- Experience in public speaking or teaching preferred.
- Computer experience, which includes Microsoft Office and Electronic Health Records.
- Must possess strong oral and written communication skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and organization skills.
- Must obtain/maintain CPR and first-aid training within 90 days of employment.
- Must use personal vehicle for community-based visits.
- Must have a valid drivers' license with auto insurance coverage.
