WHAT YOU WILL DO:
The Family Support Specialist is a non-exempt position responsible for providing on-site, individual and family intervention. This individual works as a team member with a case manager, foster parents, primary caregivers, guardian ad litem and other appropriate professionals. The Family Support Specialist provides assistance, intervention and education related to issues such as substance abuse, adjustment and relationship issues, stress, daily living skills, budget training and employment assistance.?
- Provide transportation and supervision of children and case participants to include individuals with medical and behavioral health needs
- Provide, strengthen and maintain a positive mentoring role by providing support, training, and crisis intervention to foster parents, birth parents, primary caregiver(s) and other team members involved in the case, to ensure child safety and well-being
- Assist in developing and implementing activities/tasks directed to each child, parent, and/or caregiver, according to the case plan goals and objectives
- Provide completed documentation for services rendered within required timeframes to case management program staff with the necessary verbal and written information to present at court and staffings
- Participate in on-call rotation in accordance with agency policy and program procedure
- Attend and participate in court proceedings, as appropriate and/or when required (subpoena, direct request, and when determined necessary)
- Perform all other duties as assigned.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of one (1) year experience working with children and/or families within a need identified social welfare system.
- Child Welfare experience, preferred.
- Must have a valid drivers' license and current auto insurance coverage.
