WHAT YOU WILL DO:

The Human Resources Manager is an exempt position responsible for assisting the Director of Human Resources with managing the day-to-day operations of the Human Resources Department. The Human Resources manager is responsible for administering compensation, benefits, and enforcing company policies and practices. The Human Resources manager coordinates the implementation of HR systems, provides oversight of FMLA and unemployment, and assists and advises about Human Resources issues.

Supervisor Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the direct supervision of the Employee Experience Specialist, and Receptionist/HR Assistant.
  • Supervise the Employee Experience Specialist with all Leave of Absence and FMLA paperwork and Disability claims paperwork; maintains tracking of time off pursuant to Federal guidelines and agency policies.
  • Recruits, interviews, hires, and trains new staff in the department.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Performs benefits administration to include claims resolution, approving invoices for payment, annual re-evaluation of policies for cost effectiveness
  • Coordinates the processing and approval of all Payroll Action Forms
  • Coordinates annual open enrollment for benefits
  • Completes annual EEO-1 reports
  • Coordinates Coffee with the CEO
  • Coordiates with programs to complete Civil Rights reports as requested
  • Maintain the compensation structure and conduct market pricing for positions
  • Assists Director of Human Resources with Employee Relations issues including reviewing corrective action/performance improvement plans, investigations, and terminations
  • Analyzes trends in compensation, benefits, and employee retention strategies
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources and employment law.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

WORK ARRANGEMENT:

  • Office and field work required (hybrid work environment)

WHAT YOU WILL NEED:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required.
  • A minimum of three (3) years of human resource experience required with at least one (1) year of management experience preferred.
  • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP highly desirable
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
  • Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
  • Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organizations HRIS and other talent management software
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Must be able to travel to agency locations as needed for audits. Must have a valid drivers' license, auto insurance coverage, and use of a personal vehicle to meet the traveling requirements.
