WHAT YOU WILL DO:

The Family Reunification Counselor position is responsible for providing therapeutic and support services to children and families involved in the foster care system. This professional position will help children transition back into their home by providing in-home counseling and help link families to services in the community. The Family Reunification Counselor should have a master’s degree in a human service-related field with minimum of one year experience in human services. Consideration for applications who have a bachelor’s degree in a human service-related field with a minimum of 4 years post-bachelor’s experience in human services related field. A specialized certification, such as a CAP, may substitute for one year of the required experience.

  • Provide direct counseling to children and families in order to help them transition successfully as a family unit.
  • Provide effective role modeling and monitor the families to ensure they are able to implement the new skills they have learned.
  • To attend meetings with families to ensure they are on target when it come to the meeting the needs of the children.
  • Attend FRT staffing and court as needed.
  • To provide immediate feedback to supervisors/ CMO Case Managers when a concern arises.
  • To provide a monthly written report on the status of the cases to the supervisor/CMO Case Manager, and will ensure the report is filed with the court.
  • To provide intensive in-home services to families with the goal of reunification.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED:

  • The Family Reunification Counselor should have a master’s degree in a human services related field with minimum of one year experience in human services.
    • Consideration for applicants who have a bachelor’s degree in a human services related field with a minimum of 4 years post-bachelor’s experience in human services related field.
    • A specialized certification, such as a CAP, may substitute for one year of the required experience.
  • Must have a valid drivers license and current automobile insurance coverage.
