GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION

The Creative Expressions Program (CEP) Manager will lead the operations and development of the Creative Expressions Program. The Manager will direct, plan, and support activities and special events, in collaboration with program staff, administrators, and community partners, to offer community-based opportunities for persons served to explore and develop their artistic interests and abilities. This is a full-time position.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree required. Preferred area of study includes one of the following: Art Education, Fine Arts, or Art Therapy.

Other:

  • Minimum of two years of program development, lesson planning, event planning and/or volunteer management experience.
  • Must have experience working with adults with severe and persistent mental health challenges and Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities.
  • Ability to work with and support families; behavioral health staff, and other stakeholders.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including one evening a month, and three weekend art fairs/shows per year, as needed to support 24/7operations.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong ability to maintain confidentiality and report critical information in a timely manner.
  • Experience successfully developing programing based on a budget.
  • Ability to develop programming and lead classes based on participant interests.

  • Valid driver’s license and insurance.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain and develop community partnerships to offer arts programming.
  • Meet regularly with partners and Gesher staff to support and develop activities, schedules, contracts, and agreements. Ensure that contracts/agreements are followed and adjusted as needed.
  • Help plan annual fundraising event and other showcase events, which include working with the event committee to identify venue and sponsors, develop marketing, etc.
  • Work with marketing and media to promote the program as needed.
  • Attend and help coordinate regular meetings with CEP committee members.
  • Chair the Gesher Curatorial Committee.
  • Support the people we serve using person-centered techniques. Advocate for their growth, development, and happiness.
  • Provide oversight of program reports, documentation and billing, as needed.
  • Ensure that sold participant artwork is documented properly, communicated, and payments received.
  • Ensure that program expenses and grant reporting are documented and completed in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Maintain a safe and secure program space per agency policy and lease agreements, as applicable.
  • Speak as a representative of Gesher and industry expert at local events and conferences.
  • Assists maintenance of clinical files and records in accordance with federal, state, county, and private insurance standards and regulations.
  • Attend all scheduled staff meetings and in-service training seminars as required and assigned.
  • Perform any additional duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to, stand, sit; talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer and telephone keyboard reach, stoop kneel to install computer equipment.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision requirements due to computer work and working with a variety of tools, crafting supplies, and chemicals related to creation of art.
  • Light to moderate lifting is required.
  • Operating a motor vehicle is required.

Environmental Conditions:

  • Moderate noise (i.e. business office with computers, phone, and printers, light traffic).
  • Ability to work in a confined area.
  • Ability to sit at a computer terminal for an extended period.

This position is exempt from the overtime pay provisions of the Federal Fair Labor Standards Act.
