General Job Description

The Manager, Rehabilitation Services is required to create innovative vocational programming. This individual is responsible for leading a strong team by example and to ensure KPI goals are met. This individual is responsible for leading team meetings and ensuring staff training stays up to date. It is imperative that strong relationships with the funding source are built and maintained. A key aspect of this job is providing the highest level of customer service and vocational guidance to the people we serve and to ensure all billing is submitted completely and accurately and that billing deadlines are met.

Required

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master’s degree in psychology, rehabilitation counseling, social work, or related field. CRC preferred.

Other

  • Two years related work experience in vocational assessment with individuals with developmental, emotional and/or physical impairments.
  • Fluency in American Sign Language preferred.
  • Interpersonal skills sufficient to prepare required reports.
  • Driving record must meet safe driving standards as established by Agency insurance company. Valid Michigan driver’s license.

Duties And Responsibilities

  • Plan and conduct sales presentations regarding vocational rehabilitation, including school to work transition, services to new and existing customers to reach or exceed referral and billing goals. Oversee all such programs.
  • Coordinate and complete the intake process and assist with orienting participants to program as needed, including obtaining all necessary documentation.
  • Develop, coordinate, monitor, and revise as needed, individual plans of service, including specific intervention programs as necessary to modify and teach more functional behaviors.
  • Using assessment of participant’s functional skills, interests, outside support system, financial situation, and transportation availability determine most appropriate vocational options.
  • Initiate sufficient contacts with existing and potential payers so that targeted outcomes are met. Review, revise, and refine marketing efforts as needed to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Recruit, train and supervise designated staff. Complete written performance appraisals as required.
  • Assist participants to develop sufficient understandings of their skills and abilities so that informed vocational choices occur.
  • Utilize placement and job development techniques to develop work sites, including assessing work sites utilizing appropriate forms and procedures, job restructuring and adaptive devices. Match participants with job sites.
  • Assist participants to develop effective job seeking skills, including completing applications, writing resumes, practicing job interviewing techniques and other related skills.
  • Ensure participant’s motivation remains at a level sufficient to meet targeted outcomes.
  • Complete required paperwork in compliance with applicable standards.
  • Serve on Agency committee(s) as appointed.
  • Provide transportation and other supports as needed.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Environmental Conditions

  • Moderate noise (i.e., business office with computers, phone, and printers, light traffic).
  • Ability to work in a confined area.
  • Ability to sit at a computer terminal for an extended period.

Physical Requirements

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to, stand, sit; talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer and telephone keyboard, reach, stoop, kneel to install computer equipment.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision requirements due to computer work.
  • Light to moderate lifting in required.
