About Friends of the Lone Soldier (FLS)

Friends of the Lone Soldier is a U.S. registered 501(c)(3) that raises funds to support organizations in Israel serving Lone Soldiers, young men and women who serve in the IDF without immediate family nearby. Through trusted partnerships, FLS provides housing, mental health care, scholarships, essentials, and community programming to the 7,000 Lone Soldiers currently serving. Our mission is simple: No Lone Soldier should ever feel alone.

Position Summary

The Development Operations & Marketing Associate supports the Chief Development Officer by managing the systems that keep fundraising and communications running smoothly. This role blends donor operations with creative marketing and focuses on data accuracy, gift processing, acknowledgments, reporting, email campaigns, and the creation of event and fundraising materials. This is a foundational position for someone who is highly organized, detail-oriented, creative, and excited to help build a growing organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Issue donor acknowledgments and tax receipts

• Enter and maintain donor records in Salesforce 

• Manage donor email sends using Smoove or similar platforms

• Assist with logistics for parlor meetings, synagogue programs, and U.S. tours

• Create and update flyers, event invitations, one-pagers, and campaign materials

• Support website updates and online fundraising campaigns

Qualifications

• Open to recent graduates or entry-level candidates  

• Ability to learn Salesforce and Givebutter

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

• Clear written communication

• Self-motivated and dependable

• Must be authorized to work in the United States

Compensation: This is a salaried position, with pay commensurate with experience.
