Aquatics Director

Summary: Oversees the day-to-day operation, maintenance, and administration of the aquatic facility. Oversees the hiring, training, testing, and certification of staff and student employees of the facility. Develops and implements various aquatic programs. Ensures that all appropriate water health and safety standards are maintained.
Essential Functions:
- Ensure the safety of the instructional learn-to-swim program.
- Maintain accurate attendance records using provided rosters.
- Responsible for the care and proper storage of equipment.
- Model and promote the organization’s mission, values, and guiding principles through appropriate appearance, words, and actions; and comply with the organization’s policies and procedures.
- Engage in opportunities that positively impact the member experience.
- Recognize emergencies and respond effectively, completing necessary incident / accident reports.
- Employees must have the ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions
- Employees must be able to clearly and concisely communicate orally and in writing
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Days and hours are generally Sunday – Thursday.
Preferred Education and Experience
- Nassau County Lifeguard 1A, 1B, or grade III
- ARC First Aid / CPR / AED
- WSI preferred
- 2 years of management experience
