Description
Come and join us at Elan Skilled Nursing as a PT Laundry Aide. Hours for this position are 5am-1pm. This is an hourly position starting at $16.55 per hour.
This employee performs all necessary tasks related to the institutional laundering process to include washing, drying, folding and distribution of all linens and resident clothing, as well as other linen products used within the facility.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Collecting and transporting clean and soiled linen to and from the laundry.
- Sorting, washing, drying, folding, packaging all linen and residents’ clothing laundered at the facility.
- Distribution of clean linen and residents’ clothing throughout the facility.
- Maintain a clean safe laundry environment by participating in daily cleaning of the laundry facilities.
5. Maintains confidentiality and respects residents’ privacy.
6. Follows safety and Infection Control Policies and Procedures.
7. Follows all other applicable department and facility policies.
8. Attends staff in-service programs as scheduled.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. LANGUAGE SKILLS: The position requires the ability to hear oral instruction and pages and requests from both management and nursing staff. The position requires the ability to read and understand written communications, as well as instructions for chemicals and supplies.
OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES:
Conforms to established work hours and maintains an acceptable work attendance record.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: This position requires walking or standing 100% of the shift. The position requires the worker to hear machine signals. The position requires the worker to handle clothing and linens in all phases of the laundering process. Crouching and bending are required while unloading and loading various linen carts and closets. Reaching is required in all phases of the laundry process, i.e., loading and unloading machines, carts and closets. The position requires the sense of smell be used in odor detection. The position requires lifting of up to 50 lbs. and pushing or pulling up to and above 100 lbs. on 4-wheel casters for transporting linens. The position requires close vision for the operation of the laundry equipment. The position requires color vision to distinguish stained or soiled linen and color-coded linen bins.
