The Global Jewish Education Assistant Director coordinates and facilitates activities within the Global Education department. This role encompasses a wide range of duties, including chaperoning and leading travel, preparing and managing the Global Education processes, and supporting the Director of Global Education in tasks such as creating itineraries, booking venues, distributing and gathering required paperwork, coordinating interviews, and other assigned projects. This position also has decision-making authority within established department criteria, with limited oversight required from the Director or Associate Director of Global Education.Primary Responsibilities:Program Management and Travel Coordination• Guide student groups in LA and abroad, and serve as an Experiential Educator and role model.• Chaperone trips and assist the Director in hosting delegations in Los Angeles.• Create and distribute itineraries to students, parents and faculty.• Collaborate with Department Assistant to ensure administration work is successfully done: update school calendar, manage budget expenditures, schedule Zoom calls with global partners and families, book rooms and group visits to venues, accommodations, and other necessary facilities.• Update and process Global Education program applications, ensuring all forms are approved by the Director, Principal and CFO.Administrative Support and Reporting• Maintain hard copy and digital files for all inquiries and applications.• Create and distribute decision letters, using mail merge as required.• Track information and generate reports for the department.• Assist with formatting and printing materials as needed.• Support the Director in planning and executing year-round programs in Israel, South America, Africa, Europe, and other global initiatives.• Assist the Director in developing and managing multi-lateral projects that build on existing and pending bi-lateral partnerships.• Collaborate with colleagues and departments to integrate the global dimension into the school’s curriculum and programming.• Participate in individual interviews with prospective applicants and parents.Technology and Data Management• Enter and maintain Global Education data in Blackbaud (school database).• Run queries and research as needed, preparing reports and materials as requested.Miscellaneous• Attend department meetings and prepare agendas and materials as required.• Perform other tasks and projects as assigned by the Director.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities• Passionate about the mission and vision of de Toledo High School.• Comfortable and confident in leading groups of teenagers on travel experiences (e.g., Los Angeles, Yosemite, San Francisco, Israel, Uruguay & Argentina, Budapest, Africa, Mexico).• Familiarity with the independent school sector and/or the Jewish community is highly desirable.• Excellent organizational skills; ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines and prioritize effectively.• Tech-savvy; quick learner of new systems and technologies.• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.• Proficiency in Google Suite, Google Docs/Sheets/Slides, Blackbaud, and School Dude.• Collaborative team player; collegial, enthusiastic, and communicative.• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic school environment.• Unquestionable integrity, excellent judgment, sound instincts, diplomacy, and patience.Compensation:• Salary: $70,000–$75,000 with great benefits including 100% employer paid medical and dental, plus 50% for 1 dependent; vision; an annual and generous 403(b) match; all Federal holidays plus up to 12 Jewish Holy Days paid per year.Qualified candidates regardless of faith are encouraged to apply.How to Apply: Email cover letter and resume to: careers@dths.org.
