Now Hiring: Environmental Service Aide
We are seeking a dependable and compassionate Environmental Service Aide to join our team. In this role, you will help maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for residents, staff, and visitors throughout our Nursing Center.
Position Details
- Job Title: Environmental Service Aide
- Reports To: Manager of Environmental Services
- FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
- Starting Pay: $18.50/hour
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- One (1) year of experience in institutional housekeeping preferred
- Must be at least 18 years of age
Job Summary
The Environmental Service Aide performs a variety of housekeeping and laundry duties to maintain resident rooms, offices, hallways, restrooms, and other facility areas in a clean, sanitary, and orderly condition. This position follows established cleaning procedures, safety standards, and regulatory guidelines.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform housekeeping and cleaning duties throughout the facility, including resident rooms, restrooms, offices, hallways, and common areas
- Clean, disinfect, wash, and sanitize assigned areas using approved cleaning agents and procedures
- Empty trash and waste receptacles and properly segregate medical and non-medical waste
- Maintain housekeeping supplies and equipment; restock as needed
- Operate floor care equipment and perform floor maintenance including stripping, waxing, polishing, and refinishing
- Assist with moving furniture and equipment as needed
- Help set up for facility functions and events
- Perform laundry duties including washing, drying, folding linens, and operating laundry equipment
- Assist with residents’ personal laundry and ensure proper handling and storage
- Clean and maintain laundry equipment and work areas
- Maintain professional appearance, attendance, and workplace conduct standards
- Provide courteous and respectful interactions with residents, families, staff, and visitors
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted and over 50 lbs. with assistance
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and move continuously throughout the workday
- Sufficient vision, hearing, and manual dexterity to safely perform job duties
Personal Requirements
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Patience, compassion, and sensitivity toward older adults
- Professional, dependable, and positive attitude
