Congregation Rodfei Zedek, a vibrant, traditionally egalitarian, independent synagogue seeks a part time davener/service leader for our Shabbat services (Saturday mornings with the occasional Friday night).

Our cantor is moving to part-time and we are seeking to add new voices to our clergy team before undergoing a search for a new rabbi or cantor. We seek someone to lead at least once a month, but participating on additional Shabbatot and on other occasions would be a possibility.

Pulpit Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with the rabbi and cantor in creating and leading uplifting and meaningful tefillot/prayer services
• Potentially lead family/children services in addition to the main services
• Torah reading and/or supervision on specific holidays

Other details:

This role will work together with the current clergy to enhance the spiritual life of the congregation through their skills and passion. The ideal candidate will be able to inspire the community to learn new tunes (nusach) through their leadership, while helping others to gain new skills, adding to the warmth and joy of Shabbat. This person must be able to lead all aspects of Shabbat and holiday davening as well as read Torah.

Compensation

• $300 per Shabbat (Friday evening or Saturday morning)
