Accounting Assistant/Billing Coordinator
Position Overview
We are seeking an Accounting Assistant to support our Pre-school (NCECE) and religious school (SLJ) by maintaining student billing and registration systems and providing accounting and administrative support. This role plays an important part in our school community by helping families navigate billing and registration with care, clarity, and professionalism, while also supporting the accounting team.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage student tuition, discounts, fees, and payments in ShulCloud (NCECE, Camp, and SLJ)
- Schedule recurring credit card charges and process billing adjustments
- Calculate and process refunds for student withdrawals
- Assist parents with online registration, billing setup, and past-due balances
- Support families through financial aid and appeal processes
- Process staff billing and discounts
- Assist with accounting projects, budget input, payment processing, and membership billing
- Provide support for school events as needed
Qualifications
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to maintain confidentiality
- Basic accounting knowledge and strong time-management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Minimum 2 years’ experience with financial databases or accounting software
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; ShulCloud experience a plus
- Strong interpersonal skills that include building relationships and trust with parents of our schools.
