Department Overview: Commonpoint (Samuel Field YM & YWHA) Adult Workforce Department consists of employment and support programs serving individuals predominantly adults 18 and over and opportunity youth ages 16-24. The department provides access to occupational training, education, resources, and support programs for individuals who are motivated to enter the workforce.
Position Summary: The IT Support Intern assists the technology team in maintaining, troubleshooting, and improving computer systems and network operations. This position provides hands-on experience in hardware, software, and user support while developing professional skills in information technology within a business or organizational setting.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide technical assistance and support to staff for hardware, software, and network issues.
Assist with setting up, configuring, and maintaining computers, printers, and other peripheral devices.
Help install and update software applications and operating systems under supervision.
Support network management tasks such as monitoring connectivity and troubleshooting user access issues.
Maintain accurate logs of IT requests, incidents, and resolutions.
Assist in inventory management of IT equipment and supplies.
Ensure proper data handling and adhere to cybersecurity and confidentiality policies.
Collaborate with IT staff on projects related to system upgrades, documentation, and process improvement.
Perform other duties as assigned by the IT department.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND REQUIRED COMPETENCIES:
● No High School Diploma required.
SPECIFICATIONS FOR PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
● Schedule: 15-20 hours per week.
