About Commonpoint

At Commonpoint, community is at the heart of everything we do. With more than 90 program sites and flagship locations in Little Neck, Bayside, Forest Hills, East Elmhurst, and Jamaica, we proudly serve over 125,000 individuals each year. From early childhood to older adulthood, we support people from all walks of life on their journeys from crisis to stability and empowerment. About the Programs

The JFEW Internship program offer college students from the CUNY Hillel community paid, professional summer internships with leading corporations, non-profit organizations and government agencies throughout New York City. The JFEW Summer Internship program, sponsored by Jewish Foundation for Education of Women in partnership with UJA-Federation of New York, is one component of a selective 3-year Scholarship program for high-achieving young women from the CUNY Hillel community.

Program Highlights

• Comprehensive Internship Preparation/Orientation: During the academic year prior to the internship, JFEW students participate in workshops on resume-building, job interview preparation, networking strategies, and professional communication to prepare them for professional success.

• Career Development: Program includes one-to-one resume development, mock interviews, and 3 skills-building and networking events during the summer.

• Access to Exclusive Internships: Students are placed in internships in their field of interest across a wide range of industries.

JFEW Program Timeline

• June 15 – August 7

JFEW Compensation and Payroll

Interns work 35 hours per week for 8 weeks, or a total of 280 hours. Compensation is $22/hour. Placements are subsidized by Jewish Foundation for Education of Women.
