Job Description

Position Type: Seasonal/Part- Time | Location: Bay Terrace Center

They strive to meet the evolving needs of their community of over 100,000 members ranging from providing in-school and after-school programs, professional and career development, assistance with food insecurity, legal services, financial counseling, mental health services, senior classes, dementia care programs, and tax preparation assistance to name a few. Commonpoint has grown tremendously in the last five years and now has a mission-driven staff of 3,000 and over 80 sites in the five boroughs.

To create a fun-filled, exciting, and safe environment for our members, guests and staff. Increase membership by fostering a community that offers various activities and programming for all ages. Increase overall income and revenue for the pool club.

QUALIFICATIONS

1. Current American Red Cross Lifeguard, First Aid, & CPR certification

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Supervises swimming activities at the aquatics facility and ensures that policies, guidelines, and safety procedures are followed.

2. Warns swimmers of improper activities or danger and enforces pool regulations and water safety policies.

3. Administers first aid in the event of injury rescues swimmers in distress or danger of drowning, and administers CPR and/or artificial respiration, if necessary.

4. Evaluates conditions for safety and initiates aquatics emergency action plan as required.

5. Inspects pool facilities, equipment, and water to ensure that they are safe and usable.

6. Supervises and assists in cleaning the pool and related facilities and equipment, assists with chlorine residual water tests and with records and charts of water tests and records of accidents, and adds chemicals to pool water as directed.

7. Instructs or assists classes in fundamentals of swimming as needed.

8. Resolves scheduling conflicts to ensure a safe pool environment when competing programs/priorities require use of aquatic facilities.

8.Job duties are subject to change based on changing needs.

JOB DETAILS

Hourly Salary : $18.50

Working schedule:20- 25 Hours
