Position Summary
Commonpoint Bay Terrace Center is seeking an organized and experienced Aquatics Manager to oversee the swim instruction program and aquatic classes at the facility. The Aquatics Manager is responsible for supervising swim instructors, managing the scheduling of swim lessons and classes, coordinating program registrations and payments, and ensuring the successful operation and growth of BTC’s aquatic programming.


This position works closely with the BTC Senior Director, Pool Club Managers, and Head Lifeguard to ensure all aquatic programs operate efficiently while maintaining a safe, structured, and positive learning environment for participants.


Primary Responsibilities
● Oversee all swim instruction programs and aquatic classes offered at the facility.
● Recruit, train, and supervise swim instructors.
● Develop and manage the swim lesson schedule, including group classes and private lessons.
● Coordinate instructor assignments and ensure proper staffing for all aquatic programs.
● Manage program registrations, participant communication, and lesson payments.
● Track class enrollment, attendance, and program participation.
● Maintain positive and professional relationships with parents and members participating in swim programs.
● Address parent questions or concerns regarding lessons in a professional and solution-oriented manner.
● Work with instructors and management to resolve concerns when participants or parents are dissatisfied with a lesson or program experience.
● Ensure swim instructors follow proper teaching standards and safety protocols.
● Maintain accurate records of participants, instructors, and program schedules.

● Monitor aquatic programming on the pool deck and provide support to instructors when needed.
● Assist in developing and expanding aquatic programming opportunities.
● Promote swim programs and help increase participation.
● Ensure all aquatic programs follow facility policies and safety guidelines.
● Attend management and staff meetings as required.


Qualifications
Candidates must:
● Have prior experience in swim instruction or aquatic program management.
● Demonstrate strong leadership and organizational skills.
● Have the ability to supervise staff and manage scheduling logistics.
● Possess strong communication and customer service skills when interacting with families and members.
● Be able to handle parent concerns professionally and maintain positive relationships with program participants.
● Be reliable, organized, and able to manage multiple schedules and programs simultaneously.
● Be comfortable working both administratively and on the pool deck.


Required Certifications
● American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor (WSI) Certification.
● CPR/AED Certification.


Preferred
● American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification.
● Experience managing swim lesson programs.


Schedule


This position requires flexibility and availability throughout the summer season.


Season Dates:
May – September 2026

Availability is required for weekends, evenings, and peak swim lesson hours.


Compensation
Compensation will be based on experience and certifications, ranging from $21 to $25 per hour.
