Yoga Instructor Job Description

STATEMENT OF THE JOB

Yoga & Dance Instructors are key members of the Early Childhood team and will report to the Director of the Early Childhood Department. The primary responsibilities include teaching yoga skills and techniques. Yoga & Dance Instructors should have experience teaching yoga.

They are expected to assess children’s skills and abilities to help create a fun and nurturing environment with hands-on-learning and lesson planning for children. Maintain supervision and care of each participant in the program. Directly responsible for communicating to Senior Director any class concerns. Represent Commonpoint in a positive light at all times.

SKILLS AND REQUIRED COMPETENCIES

●Previous experience teaching children yoga

● Positive classroom management skills are a must

● Communicate effectively with administration, parents, and children

● Manage cleanliness of classroom

● Effective verbal, listening and written communication skills

● Effective organizational, stress and time management skills

Location: Central Queens Center 67-09 108th St. Forest Hills, NY 11375

Hourly Rate: $73/hr
