Department Overview:
Commonpoint (Samuel Field YM & YWHA) Adult Workforce Department consists of employment and support programs serving individuals predominantly adults 18 and over and opportunity youth ages 16-24. The department provides access to occupational training, education, resources, and support programs for individuals who are motivated to enter the workforce.
Position Summary:
The IT Support Intern assists the technology team in maintaining, troubleshooting, and improving computer systems and network operations. This position provides hands-on experience in hardware, software, and user support while developing professional skills in information technology within a business or organizational setting.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
● Provide technical assistance and support to staff for hardware, software, and network issues.
● Assist with setting up, configuring, and maintaining computers, printers, and other peripheral devices.
● Help install and update software applications and operating systems under supervision.
● Support network management tasks such as monitoring connectivity and troubleshooting user access issues.
● Maintain accurate logs of IT requests, incidents, and resolutions. ● Assist in inventory management of IT equipment and supplies
● Ensure proper data handling and adhere to cybersecurity and confidentiality policies.
● Collaborate with IT staff on projects related to system upgrades, documentation, and process improvement.
● Perform other duties as assigned by the IT department.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND REQUIRED COMPETENCIES:
● No High School Diploma required.
SPECIFICATIONS FOR PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
● Schedule: 15-20 hours per week.
