Role overview
The Technology and Senior Center Coordinator handles the day-to-day management and activities at My Go-To Place Village Center. This role is also responsible for technology education in the Affordable Housing communities.
This is a hybrid role.
What You’ll Do
Essential responsibilities
- Manages the community space including opening, closing, and keeping a tidy space.
- Remains in contact with regular vendors about changes, closure dates, etc.
- Contacts Maintenance for support and concerns as needed.
- Works with the IT department to acquire technological equipment including personal devices for residents.
- Provides regular technology education classes in all Affordable Housing communities.
- Offers one-on-one technology tutoring to residents in need of extra support and provides them with referrals or added resources if necessary.
- Assists technology volunteers in connecting with residents.
- Provides Affordable Housing staff with information and concerns about residents as they come up.
- Disseminates flyers and calendars throughout My Go-To Place and Village Center.
- Formats, assists Robineau Life Enrichment Coordinator in creating building materials, and translates Swartzberg and Krasnow building activity calendars and disseminates to communities.
- Provides support at birthday parties, holidays, and field trips including help on and off the bus, keeping residents safe on site, helping with set up and tear down, ordering foods etc.
- Provides interpretation support as needed.
- Attends weekly team meetings and weekly one-on-one session with direct supervisor.
- Attends monthly meetings with Affordable Housing staff.
- Supports team members and outside organizations with programs at Village Center.
- Tracks attendance at programs and activities.
Compensation
$25.00 per hour.
Schedule
Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 5:30 pm.
Union status
Membership in Service Employees International Union Local 73 is a condition of employment.
Who You Are
Education
- High school diploma or GED is required.
- A college degree is preferred.
Experience
- Experience working with minority groups such as older adults, immigrants, and disabled persons, is preferred.
Other
- Strong communication skills, good judgment, and customer service are strongly preferred in this position.
- Basic technology skills is required.
- Must be available to work a flexible schedule, including weekends.
- Must have reliable transportation to commute to various locations is required.
- Fluency in English and Russian is required.
