The Graphic Design & Marketing Associate is an integral member of the Marketing & Communications team, responsible for producing visually engaging content that strengthens and showcases the CESJDS brand across print, digital, and social media platforms. This role is approximately 50% graphic design, 30% multimedia production (including photography and video), and 20% marketing operations support.
The ideal candidate is a creative and collaborative visual storyteller with strong design skills, a keen eye for capturing the energy and spirit of school life, and the ability to produce dynamic, on-brand content. They must be a flexible, adaptable team player who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is comfortable shifting between design, content creation, and collaborative support as priorities evolve.
Key Responsibilities:
Graphic Design (50%)
- Design a wide range of print and digital materials, including but not limited to, event invitations, posters, advertisements, signage, banners, infographics, brochures, and more.
- Ensure consistency across all communications by adhering to CESJDS brand guidelines.
- Collaborate with the Marketing & Communications, Development, and Admissions teams to support both internal and external communications and school-wide priorities.
- Serve as project manager for recurring annual design projects.
- Create original visual assets such as illustrations, icons, and logos.
- Prepare print-ready files and coordinate production timelines with print vendors.
Multimedia Content Creation (30%)
- Contribute to the Marketing & Communications team’s efforts in capturing high-quality photography and video of events, classrooms, student life, and campus activities for marketing and communications use.
- Edit and compile short-form videos for social media, email campaigns, and event recaps.
- Organize and maintain a digital archive of photo and video assets for internal and external use.
- Contribute to the development of a visual storytelling strategy that highlights the CESJDS experience.
Marketing & Communications Support (20%)
- Provide on-site photo and video coverage, as well as general support, for internal, external, and other school-wide events.
- Assist with content updates for the school’s website, social media platforms, and newsletters.
- Collaborate across departments to ensure visual and written content aligns with school messaging and branding goals.
- Provide backup support to the Director of Marketing & Communications and the Marketing Communications Coordinator.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Multimedia, Communications, related field, or relevant experience.
- 2+ years of experience in graphic design, with a portfolio that demonstrates creativity and versatility.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (particularly InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, and Premiere Pro or equivalent).
- Experience using a DSLR, mirrorless camera, or even a high-quality smartphone to take clear, well-composed photos—professional photography experience is not required.
- Comfortable filming and editing short videos using basic editing tools such as Canva, iMovie, or similar—professional-level experience is not required, but a willingness to learn and create polished content is essential.
- Excellent attention to detail, time management, and ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines.
- Collaborative mindset and strong interpersonal communication skills.
- Experience in a school or nonprofit environment is a plus.

Faculty may be asked to perform their work responsibilities on campus and/or at home. In both settings, the teacher is required to maintain a professional environment.

While on campus, classes may be operating either in person or in an alternative setting. Teachers are expected to be present and accessible for the entire school day (contracted hours), regardless of the setting.
