Charles E. Smith Jewish Day School (CESJDS) in Rockville, MD is seeking candidates to fill the 12-month part-time (.5) position of Program Administrator. This 12-month position has a start date as soon as possible. The position is initially for one year, although we anticipate needing this position for up to three years. The ideal candidate will have experience in school administration and teaching language arts. The Program Administrator reports directly to the Lower School Principal.

We are currently seeking candidates for the position of Program Administrator in our Lower School. This is a part-time (0.5 FTE), 12-month position, with a start date as soon as possible. While initially a one-year role, we anticipate the need to extend it for up to three years. The ideal candidate will bring experience in school administration and language arts instruction, and will be eager to contribute to a dynamic and mission-driven learning community. This position reports directly to the Lower School Principal.
Responsibilities include:
- Collaborate with faculty on a wide range of language arts and cross curricular programs.
- Partner with Grade Level Leaders to coordinate General Studies field trips.
- Lead coordination of major programs planning, including Grade Level Research Expos, Literacy Night Planning, Book Fair in partnership with Parent Association, and Read Across America in partnership with our Head Librarian.
- Coordinate, plan and implement Artists in Residence Grants and Program (MSAC).
- Organize Literacy Data Collection and Analysis using Literably, writing samples, IMSE, Heggerty, and Language Arts MAP’s.
- Coordinate Whole School Morning Meetings with B’yachad (Diversity) coordinator.
- Duties as assigned such as carpool, recess or lunch duties.
- Coordinate School Supply orders.
- Maintain Language Arts Book Rooms.
- Other duties as assigned by the Acting Lower School Principal.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree with Masters degree preferred
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience
- Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication, and organizational skills
- Skilled in use of technology - particularly adept in google suite and educational platforms a plus
- Ability to work with a diverse range of students and families
- Ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic school environment
