Chief of Staff The Associated: Jewish Federation of Baltimore is seeking a Chief of Staff (COS) to join our Executive Office. The ideal candidate will serve as a senior strategic partner to the President & CEO, helping to lead the administrative, governance, culture, and communication functions of The Associated. The COS is a member of the Executive Leadership Team, supervises staff, and ensures the effective operation of the Executive Office, manages Board and governance compliance, leads organizational messaging, and drives special projects that advance institutional priorities. The COS works closely with all departments and external partners to ensure operational excellence, alignment with mission, and a consistent, high‑quality representation of The Associated’s brand and values.In this highly collaborative role, you will use your expertise and be responsible for: Serving as a senior advisor to the CEO on organizational operations, strategic priorities, culture, and cross departmental coordination and collaboration.Planning, implementing, and managing engagement strategies for all Boards of The Associated. Ensures compliance with bylaws, governance standards, and regulatory requirements. Serving as a primary liaison to Board leadership, ensuring they are informed, prepared, and supported.Overseeing organizational brand and messaging to ensure clarity, consistency, and alignment with The Associated’s mission and brand. Leading special projects and strategic initiatives assigned by the President or Board leadership. Identifying organizational challenges, operational gaps, or emerging issues and develop solutions that strengthen performance and stakeholder experience. Builds strong partnerships with department managers, agency leadership, community partners, and key stakeholders.Promoting The Associated’s mission of community engagement and resource development by developing and stewarding relationships with donors and key stakeholders including participation in fund raising activities. Qualifications for this role: Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree preferredMore than 8 years’ work related experience in strategy, operations, consulting, communications, or a similarly demanding environment.Experience working with executives and Board members5-8 years of supervisory experience; demonstrated ability to lead across multiple departmentsComfort with fast moving environmentsOutstanding knowledge of MS Office and the ability to learn new technologiesAbility to exercise discretion and a very high level of confidentiality with sensitive information is required to be successful in this position. Ability to effectively manage multiple deadlines and priorities is required. Ability to participate and collaborate in a team is required.
