Financial Wellness Senior Associate
The Opportunity:
Are you passionate about supporting Jewish community members experiencing poverty and economic vulnerability? Building on an array of existing services designed to support individuals and families experiencing economic vulnerability in the Jewish community, The Associated: Jewish Federation of Baltimore is currently seeking a Financial Wellness Senior Associate to launch and implement an initiative to foster financial wellness.

The Associated is recognized as one of the top Jewish community organizations in North America and a national leader within the Jewish Federation system. The Associated ensures the delivery of community services to the Baltimore Jewish community, the people of Israel, and Jewish communities around the world. The Associated builds community with its network of nonprofits. It provides community security, fights antisemitism, delivers essential humanitarian services, creates meaningful Jewish engagement opportunities and connects Jewish Baltimore with Israel, Jewish communities around the world and the greater Baltimore community.
Position Overview:
The Senior Associate will implement a five-point plan to empower financial wellness in the Jewish community to address food insecurity, offer financial education across the lifespan, reduce stigma and enhance awareness of financial vulnerability, foster accessible Jewish life and enhance workforce development. This grant funded position serves as a key member of the Associated’s Community Planning and Allocations team and will engage communal partners in creative and innovative ways to assist the 24% of households in Jewish Baltimore experiencing economic vulnerability and to empower them to take steps toward sustained financial wellness.
Responsibilities include understanding Jewish communal needs, analyzing data, developing partnerships with local and national communal partners, launching and implementing strategies to address Jewish economic vulnerability, supervising a part-time Associate and creating marketing and evaluation strategies with colleagues.
In this highly collaborative role, you will:
- Represent The Associated.
- Implement Jewish Economic Vulnerability strategies.
- Supervise part-time Associate to assist with financial education across the lifespan.
- Develop an in-depth understanding of the scope of financial wellness services within the Associated network.
- Develop strong relationships within the Associated system.
- Collaborate with synagogues, schools, and other organizations to further The Associated’s initiative to address Jewish economic vulnerability.
- Provide regular communications with relevant information to lay and professional leadership.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree required. Master’s Degree preferred but not required.
- Three to five years work-related experience.
- Strong knowledge of human services, particularly economic vulnerability and anti-poverty work.
- A passion for helping empower community members in need.
- Superior organizational skills.
- Experience in launching and implementing new programs.
- Ability to exercise discretion and confidentiality with sensitive information is required.
- Ability to effectively manage multiple deadlines and priorities is required.
- Ability to participate and collaborate in a team setting is required.
Compensation & Benefits:
Salary range is $57,800-$64,800 and is commensurate with qualifications, skills, and experience
