We are seeking a dynamic, mission-driven Community School Coordinator (CSC) to serve as a key leader at Cross Country Elementary/Middle School (CCEMS). About the RoleAs the Community School Coordinator, you will collaborate closely with school leadership, families, educators, and community partners to support the whole child and strengthen the surrounding community. You will help expand learning opportunities, connect families with essential resources, build strong partnerships, and foster meaningful family and community engagement. This role is ideal for someone who is organized, relationship‑focused, community‑minded, and ready to take initiative. What You’ll DoPartnership & Resource Development Build, grow, and coordinate partnerships that support student success and school prioritiesDevelop agreements with partners and secure additional resources and in‑kind supportConvene partners throughout the year for collaboration and planning Student & Family Support Serve on the Student Support and Attendance teamsHelp identify student needs and coordinate appropriate supports, including home visitsConnect families to mental health, health, housing, and stability resources Family & Community Engagement Lead the School Family Council and key family engagement eventsSupport parent leadership and volunteer initiativesBuild relationships with neighborhood associations and community leaders Administrative Responsibilities Track budgets, maintain records, and submit reporting and documentationCollect data to measure program outcomesAttend CHAI and district-required trainings and meetings Qualifications Associate degree required; bachelor’s degree preferredAt least 2 years of experience working with youth, families, or community stakeholdersExperience in areas like mentoring, community organizing, resource development, program coordination, or volunteer management is highly valued Ideal Candidate AttributesWe’re looking for someone who is: A strong relationship builderOrganized, proactive, and able to manage multiple prioritiesCommunity‑oriented and mission‑drivenA problem solver who cares deeply about students and familiesCollaborative and eager to learn Helpful Skills & Knowledge Understanding of Baltimore’s community resources and social servicesExperience working with children, families, or diverse communitiesComfort with data tracking, Microsoft Office, budgeting basicsFamiliarity with community school principals and anti-oppression practices Additional Requirements Ability to work on-site at the school and CHAI officeOccasional evenings and rare weekend eventsValid driver’s license, reliable vehicle, and willingness to drive locally (mileage reimbursed) Compensation and Benefits: $70,000-$75,000 (commensurate with experience)This position comes with a full set of benefits, including medical and dental insurance plans, retirement, paid time off, and professional development. Conditions of Employment:The CSC is a full-time, 12-month, grant-funded position, with funding provided primarily through Baltimore City Public Schools from the Blueprint for Maryland’s Future. The CSC follows the school’s schedule, not the lead agency’s schedule, and will need to work some evenings and, occasionally, weekends.
