About the Organization

Jeff’s Place, an independent 501(c)(3) founded by Chabad Intown, is a community-centered recovery space where individuals of all backgrounds come together for connection, support, and healing through weekly 12-step meetings, community events, and values-driven programming. Jeff’s Place provides a safe, welcoming environment for those in recovery, those struggling with substance use, and their loved ones.

Since its founding Jeff’s Place has expanded its focus on bringing awareness and education as well as programs to support those in recovery and their loved ones to the broader Jewish community in Atlanta and eventually beyond.

About the Role

The Program Director will lead and grow this community by overseeing programs, events, and partnerships that bring the space to life. This role is responsible for managing the weekly recovery meetings, creating engaging monthly programming, and serving as a visible presence in the community to build awareness and increase engagement. The Program Director will also direct outreach and fundraising efforts to expand Jeff’s Place’s reach and impact. This is a hands-on, high-ownership role for a self-starter who is passionate about the recovery space, thrives in a community-facing position, and is excited to build and grow something meaningful.

What You’ll Do

Community Engagement & Relationship Building

  • Proactively engage new community members and stakeholders to expand reach and grow overall community involvement

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with participants, donors, and community partners

  • Collaborate with peer networks and stakeholders to strengthen community engagement and program reach

  • Serve as a visible and active presence in the community, proactively engaging new participants and stakeholders to expand reach and overall community involvement

  • Develop and execute outreach strategies, including social media, email communications, and community partnerships, to increase awareness and drive sustained engagement

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with participants, donors, and community partners

  • Collaborate with peer networks and stakeholders to strengthen community engagement and program reach

Program Management & Strategy

  • Partner with stakeholders to develop and facilitate engaging programming aligned with organizational goals

  • Develop and manage an annual program work plan, tracking progress and outcomes

  • Assist in program budget development and monitor expenditures

  • Implement and facilitate programs directly or oversee contract facilitators to ensure high-quality delivery

Events & Program Execution

  • Develop and execute event concepts, including themes, logistics, and materials

  • Create detailed event timelines and manage all aspects of event coordination

  • Liaise with vendors, service providers, and potential facilitators

  • Manage event budgets, negotiate contracts, and ensure cost-effective execution

  • Oversee event setup, execution, and breakdown in collaboration with operations staff

Data, Research & Additional Support

  • Conduct research and gather data to inform program development and decision-making

  • Support reporting, data entry, and special projects as needed

  • Contribute to additional program priorities as the organization evolves

What You’ll Bring

  • 6+ years of experience in event planning, program management, or a related field

  • Proven ability to manage multiple high-priority projects in a fast-paced environment

  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail

  • Ability to balance strategic planning with hands-on execution

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

  • Proficiency with tools such as Google Suite, Eventbrite, and other event management platforms

  • A proactive, self-starting mindset with the ability to work independently

  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed

Preferred Experience

  • Experience in a nonprofit, community-based, or mission-driven organization

  • Strong visual and creative sensibility for designing engaging, intentional experiences

  • Demonstrated ability to remain solutions-oriented and calm under pressure

  • Strong connection to the mission and vision of Jeff’s Place

What You’ll Receive

  • Competitive salary of $85,000–$105,000
