Capital Camps & Retreat Center is seeking a creative, organized, and relationship-driven Philanthropy & Community Engagement Associate to help strengthen Jewish community, expand access to camp, and grow meaningful engagement with families, alumni, and supporters. About Capital Camps & Retreat Center: CCRC provides transformative Jewish overnight camp and retreat experiences. Administrative offices are in Rockville, Maryland; the camp and retreat center are in Waynesboro, Pennsylvania. What You’ll Do: This role combines fundraising, communications, events, relationship-building, and project management. Community Engagement & Fundraising: Help execute fundraising campaigns and engagement initiatives; Support donor, parent, alumni, and community outreach; Assist with stewardship; Support peer-to-peer fundraising and volunteer engagement; Create meaningful donor experiences and personalized communications; Spearhead a new alumni engagement initiative for CCRC’s 40th anniversary. Communications & Storytelling: Draft emails, social media content, acknowledgements, and campaign materials; Partner with the marketing team on donor-facing communications; Maintain consistent messaging and outreach; Support alumni engagement initiatives and special campaigns. Events & Experiences: Assist with donor events, alumni gatherings, and summer camp visits; Coordinate logistics, communications, scheduling, and follow-up; Create welcoming and engaging experiences for supporters and guests. Operations & Organization: Maintain donor and alumni records in Raiser’s Edge; Process gifts and acknowledgements; Prepare reports, mailing lists, and campaign tracking materials; Ensure systems and projects run smoothly. Growth & Collaboration: Work closely with senior leadership; Contribute ideas and creative solutions; Participate in special projects; Grow professionally within a collaborative team. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience; 1–3 years of experience preferred in nonprofit work, communications, fundraising, marketing, events, education, or related fields; Strong communication and interpersonal skills; Organized and detail-oriented; Comfortable learning new systems and technology; Experience with Canva/social/email platforms a plus; Experience with Raiser’s Edge or CRM helpful; Interest in nonprofit leadership, philanthropy, and Jewish community building; Positive, collaborative, proactive mindset. Work Environment & Schedule: Based in Rockville, Maryland (Monday–Friday) from September through May; Approximately 3–4 days per week at camp in Waynesboro, PA during the summer; Occasional evening and weekend events.
