Capital Camps & Retreat Center is seeking a creative, organized, and relationship-driven Philanthropy & Community Engagement Associate to help strengthen Jewish community, expand access to camp, and grow meaningful engagement with families, alumni, and supporters. Ideal for an early-career professional to build experience in fundraising, communications, events, community engagement, nonprofit leadership, and relationship management. What You’ll Do:- Community Engagement & Fundraising: help execute campaigns and initiatives; support donor/parent/alumni/community outreach; stewardship and relationship building; peer-to-peer fundraising and volunteer engagement; create meaningful donor experiences; spearhead a new alumni engagement initiative for CCRC’s 40th anniversary.- Communications & Storytelling: draft emails, social content, acknowledgements, and campaign materials; partner with marketing; maintain consistent messaging; support alumni engagement and special campaigns.- Events & Experiences: assist with donor events, alumni gatherings, and summer camp visits; coordinate logistics and communications; create welcoming experiences.- Operations & Organization: maintain donor/alumni records in Raiser’s Edge; process gifts and acknowledgements; prepare reports/lists/tracking; ensure systems and projects run smoothly.- Growth & Collaboration: work closely with senior leadership; contribute ideas; participate in special projects; grow professionally on a collaborative team. Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience; 1–3 years preferred in nonprofit/communications/fundraising/marketing/events/education; strong communication and interpersonal skills; organized and detail-oriented; tech-comfortable; experience with Canva/social/email a plus; Raiser’s Edge/CRM helpful; interest in nonprofit leadership, philanthropy, and Jewish community building; positive, collaborative, proactive mindset. Work Environment & Schedule:- Based in Rockville, Maryland (Monday–Friday) from September through May.- Approximately 3–4 days per week at camp in Waynesboro, PA during the summer.- Occasional evening and weekend events.
